Group Exhibition

28.05–11.09.2016: De Hallen & Frans Hals Museum, Haarlem, NL

In this exhibition the visitor travels to France with Jan Sluijters and to Spain with Leo Gestel, but also to Indonesia with Isaac Israels, to America with Adrian Lubbers and to the North Pole with Louis Apol. Scores of travel-fevered artists vie for attention in this summer show, with attention to painting, travel sketches, sculptural work, but also photography, installation and video. Simultaneously, the Frans Hals Museum will show 17th century paintings that touch on the same subject.

De Hallen Haarlem is the museum for modern and contemporary art in Haarlem.
Two times a year, De Hallen Haarlem organises a cluster of exhibitions dealing with current developments in the visual arts. In them, the museum offers a platform for artists from the Netherlands and other countries, with the accent on photography and video art. The large annual summer exhibition at De Hallen Haarlem draws from its own collection of classic modern art and provides viewing pleasure for a wide audience.
