We were invited by project agency 'Beyond' for a stay at the residence of Nomads in Residence for a two weeks investigation of the area in the Leidsche Rijn nearby Utrecht. The Leidsche Rijn is the largest location in the Netherlands for newly build residential buildings (over 80.000 houses). We noticed during our stay in the residence in Leidsche Rijn that new inhabitants threw away many of their possesions in buildingcontainers. Their old belonging couldn't enter there new dreamhouse realised straight alike the catalogue. In two days we collected all the usable objects during the day and the night. During the night we encountered many other people who all sorted out objects from the buildingcontainers. There was a whole economy build around the moment when the inhabitants arive.

We stored all our findings in the residence and upon one night we made a display of all the objects in front of a newly build apartment building. With a photograph of this action we created an invitation which we used to make an invitation to invite the inhabitants of Leidsche Rijn to come and see the presentation of ’Refuse dump’. For this presentation we made a display of our collection in and around the residence. Just like a big interior shop we created several areas where you could walk through. Upon a Sunday afternoon the exhibition was accessible for the public. At the end of the project a recycling shop (the Emmaus) took nearly all the goods with them.
