Basis

In this project we invited artist to participate in this project. We put an advertisement in a magazine to stay with us in Artis for five weeks. We asked artist to come and use the city of Den Bosch as their working area, preferably without concrete ideas on forehand but willing to develop their work from scratch. Artis functioned as an indoor camping where artist could sleep, a meeting room, and a documentation space andspace to  prepare interventions in Den Bosch.

There were discussions about issues like: the position of an art institute, the position and commitment of art in society, the influence and effect of art, art in public space and the relation and or interaction with the public. On Sunday there were discussions about these subjects. After five weeks this resulted in an exhibition that was embedded in the city of Den Bosch with several actions, performances and interventions and had a strong relation to this.

The basis is
While working and living together with 23 artists for five weeks a lot of similarities and differences appeared in the approaches of the artists participating. Together we tried to find notions to reveal these similarities and differences. We tried to make visible how and where we all relate too. The last speech for the project in Basis was a list of all the things we related too in within the project.
