Refuse Dump
2004

Refuse Dump consisted of collected usable objects found during day and night in the building containers in new town Leidsche Rijn. During the night there were many other people who all sorted objects from the building containers. There was a whole economy build around the moment when the inhabitants arrive in the newly constructed area.

The photograph of a temporary installation at night was used for an invitation for the inhabitants of Leidsche Rijn to come and see the presentation of ’Refuse dump’. For this presentation a display, similar to a big interior shop or garage sale was created with several different areas illustrating different living areas. Upon a Sunday afternoon the exhibition was accessible for the public.
