Event
27–29.09.2024: CurieuCity, Brussels, BE
CurieuCity is a new arts and science festival coming to Brussels this year. It offers scientific, artistic, and educational activities, partly in public spaces and in collaboration with local initiatives.
CurieuCitycultivates curiosity and wonder in everything that surrounds us individually and collectively. It’s a festival that aims to combine the scientific rigor of universities with the experiential impact of art, STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), and socio-cultural action. Each edition of the festival often addresses a question inspired by the reality of the neighborhood where it is located. This way, at the urban site of Westpark, we imagine the city of the future, delve into the world of water, biodiversity and natural sciences in the Wiels Swamp neighborhood. In the Marolles we will emphasize STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
CurieuCityexplores the intersection of creativity and curiosity. To illustrate this idea and create its own spellbinding atmosphere, we are delighted to be working with Marie Douel, a Brussels-based scenographer. With her keen eye for detail and innovative approach, Marie transforms spaces into immersive experiences that enchant and inspire.
Curieucity is funded by the Brussels Region via Innoviris, which involves the sister universities ULB and VUB and their co-artistic director, OHME, along with the National Lottery and her players and also the VGC for the educational pre-course in schools.
