Depth of Discharge

Depth of Discharge (2021) examines electricity through its mesmerizing magic, natural science, and the ideas of the Enlightenment, featuring objects associated with technology and energy use, including lithium, coal, circuit boards, copper wires and personal devices. By utilizing high-voltage electrophotography technology, Dijkman makes microscopic electric interactions visible, turning it into an almost animistic character and visual spectacle. The soundscape is composed with recordings of the electric discharge on different frequencies.
